Families First Funeral Care & Cremation Center exemplifies what it means to bring the funeral service into the modern digital age, while maintaining personalized services for its families. The funeral service and its parent company, Fidelity Memorial Group, strive to bring custom services to the family with an arranging process at the place of need.

President of Families First and Founder of Fidelity Memorial Group, Kyle Nikola, says their unique online approach helps secure the planning process for families.

“Very early on, we facilitated an online paperwork-signing process, and later incorporated online planning solutions to reach the families we serve – ultimately saving them time and the aggravation which can come with planning a funeral,” Nikola says.

Along with their online planning solutions, Families First emphasized cost-effective services that were still highly personal. To help with this goal, they put more focus on the quality of services and less on the venue size. They’re still able to accommodate up to 120 people in their location, but with the reduced overhead costs, their services are more economical – giving all families the opportunity to plan a quality service for their loved one.

“We didn’t want to sacrifice the quality of services for our families, but since our fixed costs are lower, we can pass those savings on to the families and reduce arrangement prices,” Nikola says.

Coming from a funeral-industry family, Nikola grew up in the profession and watched his father start in the funeral business starting in 1974, and eventually take ownership of his business in 1985.

”Growing up watching my dad, I always wanted to get into it and carry on his legacy. Whereas he primarily focused on cemeteries, I saw an opportunity to make an impact on the funeral home side.”

From this inspiration, Nikola and Fidelity Memorial Group have established locations in Georgia, New Jersey, and Ohio, ranging from traditional locations to those like Families First, leveraging modern technology. With a solid, established funeral business, they’ve used eFuneral to reach more families in the online approach, ultimately shifting them into the digital funeral age.
