4 Free Graphic Design Programs for Your Funeral Home

As we’ve moved into a much more digital world, incorporating compelling visuals is more important than ever. As a busy funeral professional, you may not have the time to put into learning an in-depth design program such as the ones Adobe Creative Cloud has to offer. However, there are several free and easy-to-use programs out there that can help you create great visuals for your social media channels, presentations and videos. Here are a few examples:

1. Canva Perhaps one of the best-known and most widely used programs, Canva is a great starting point for creating clean social media content. With dozens of options, you can select your type of post (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) and the program gives you many suggestions for templates and formats. You can even use it for print materials like posters, memorial package pieces. Upgrade to the Canva Pro allows you to do even more and gets you access to stock photos as well.

2. Adobe Spark If Illustrator or Premier Pro are daunting to you for video production, Spark can help you create simple yet effective videos. Simply drag and drop images and text to create short promotional videos for your funeral business. You can also create social media posts and other digital material with Spark.

3. Inkscape If you’re new to graphic design, Inkscape is a perfect starting program. The program allows you to create graphics (logos and illustrations) which are scalable – meaning they won’t distort if you use them for bigger print or digital projects like a funeral home-branded sign or a memorial video. They house many templates to help you decide the look and feel of each piece you create. Visme also has training videos for their programs, certifications and live webinars for you to learn more about the software itself, and how to grow as a designer.

Although these programs are great starting points, the eFuneral team is here to provide you with templated material – specifically to help you promote your online eFuneral portal. Contact us (support@efuneral.com)
